DVOR built at Phu Cat airport
17:9', 4/11/ 2007 (GMT+7)

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Doppler VHF (Very-High-Frequency) Omnidirectional Range (DVOR) station at Phu Cat airport was held on November 2 at Phu Cat airport.

The NDB (Non Directional Beacon) station was previously used for the landing of all kinds of planes, which caused the poor visibility and became useless in bad weathers.

The construction of DVOR station will be, therefore, expected to assist planes, especially Airbus 320 or B737, with safe landing, minimizing the flight delay or cancel.

Also, the construction of DVOR station, the installation of night-time lighting system worth VND16 billion as well as the newly rebuilt-road to the airport will improve the infrastructure of Phu Cat airport, contributing to the local social-economic development.
