Two Binh Dinh Province companies invest USD 22 million in Lao

According to Ministry of Planning and Investment, in 2006, Vietnamese enterprises sought out investment opportunities in 10 foreign countries and  territories. The Lao People's Democratic Republic were the most favourable destination of the Vietnamese investors with 13 projects (USD 54.26-million worth of total investment). Binh Dinh Province made up  2 of the 13 projects. Binh Dinh Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment  Co. (Bidiphar) and its Laotian partner, CBF Pharma Co., formed Lao-Viet Friendship Rubber Joint-venture Co. specializing in planting and processing rubber and other industrial trees in Champasak and Sekong Provincies. Bidiphar contributes 80% of the USD 10 million worth of total investment. Binh Dinh Industry Agriculture Trading Co., Ltd (BIDINA) invested over USD 12.5 million to plant rubber trees, sugar-canes, cassavas, timbers. BIDINA also built processing plants of rubber-latex, sugar, tincture,etc. in Sekong province.
