This year, the export enterprises in Binh Dinh Province will keep on facing many new challenges, particularly fluctuating price and changeable markets. Consequently, since the very first days of 2007 New Year, many of them actively have speeded up their production and export activities, locating more new export markets, ect. According to statistics of provincial administrative agencies, January export turn-over of Binh Dinh Province achieved USD 33.3 million, increasing 20.3% in comparison with the same period last year. Out of them, provincial state-owned companies made up 10.8%, private companies held 25%, foreign-invested enterprises took nearly 15%, co-operatives accounted for 36.4%,etc. January saw the highest export turnover; 4 out of 5 exports goods were exported more than the same period of 2006.
According to Binh Dinh Trade Department, Binh Dinh wants to reach USD 280 million total export turnover in 2007, a USD 10 million higher than the 2006 target. It will be really difficult to achieve the target if there aren’t effective solutions, strongwill of the enterprises and a comprehensive cooperation among bodies/agencies, enterprises.
M.r Hoang Van Tuyen, Director of Binh Dinh Trade Department said that the 5-year socio-economic development scheme (2006-2010) of Binh Dinh Province was coming to the second year in 2007. This year, we have to put our WTO commitments into practice. There are lots of difficulties and challenges besides advantages. Competition among export enterprises in export markets is becoming more severe. The enterprises will face more dumping lawsuits and stricter non-tariff barrier. Therefore, Binh Dinh Trade Department encourages the enterprises to focus on intensive investment, efficient production, modern technology, cost-saving innovation, lower price, higher productivity, better quality and more competitive export products, particularly those with the highest export value in accordance with WTO regulations and international standards. In addition, Binh Dinh Trade Department calls on the enterprises to diversify their export commodities, intensively invest in high value-added products such as interior woodwork, fine arts, medicine, refined titan products.
The Department also motivates the enterprises to co-operate together as giant corporations or big joint-venture companies so that they can take best advantage of human and financial resources, of production and marketing management. The corporation or joint-venture companies will act as leading export facilitators as well as representatives in dealing with international partners. Establishment of Binh Dinh Province export industry associations and participation into national export association will be offered favourable conditions. The Department will keep on offering its convinient procedures for the enterprises to register their trademarks, setting up and improving their international criteria quality management, strengthening their competitive capacities in integrated environment.
