On this occasion, Binh Dinh Newspaper reporter interviewed Mr. Scott Ainlie, General director of Cargill Vietnam about operation of the enterprise in Binh Dinh Province.

* Can you please introduce briefly about Cargill plant in Binh Dinh?

- Cargill supplies products and services in field of foodstuff, agricultural produces and financial management worldwide. It now has 150,000 staff working in 70 countries all over the world. Cargill’s principle is to promote its best ability and experience to co-operate with its customers for sake of their successes.

Cargill invested USD 6 million to build its cattle-feed processing plant in Long My IZ. In its inception phase of operation, the plant will produce about 60 ton per year. It will be enlarged as the Cargill’s markets expand in future. After 7 consecutive months of construction, the well-equipped plant with modern production lines now comes into operation together with a series of Cargill Vietnam plants all over the country. Total capacity of all the Cargill Vietnam plants is now up to 700,000 ton/year. Products of the plant in Long My IZ will be sold at markets from Phu Yen Province to Thua Thien-Hue Province.

*Why Cargill decided to build the cattle-feed processing plant in Binh Dinh Province?

- Construction of Cargill cattle-feed processing plant in Binh Dinh means that Cargill has positive vision about invesment environment of Vietnam. Cargill has been committed to support breeding industry of Vietnam in its fast, constant and sustainable development. We find that the breeding in Central Vietnam has been on full development. With its modern and advanced technology, Cargill plant in Binh Dinh plays a role as a springboard for more aggressive expansion of Cargill all over the Central Vietnam. In addition, infrastructure of Long My IZ is fairly good and ready for the construction of our plant.

It is notable that People’s Committee of Binh Dinh Province, its authorized bodies and agencies and Management Board of Provincial Industrial Zones have helped investors with all of their heart. They are always willing to help us and offer the most favourable conditions for us to accomplish legal procedures for establishment of the plant and our business. In fact, the Cargill plant at Long My IZ will help to strengthen competitive capacities of Cargill dealers and bring more advantages for customers in Binh Dinh Province in particular and in the Central Vietnam in general. Cost of transportation will be cut down. Quicker delievery and more timely supply for the markets will be ensured, etc.

*What message and pledge would Cargill like to send to its customers?

- In November 2005, Cargill Vietnam commemorated its 10th birthday in Vietnam. During the last 10 years, in the eyes of ours, Vietnam has been  developed and changed a lot. Hence, we deeply aware that if we continue our customer services like before, we will certainly gain commitment of the customers.

Quality is always the top priority of the customers. So, Cargill will continue boosting its new technology research and development in order to satisfy better quality requirement of the customers. We will interuptedly apply new nutritional technologies as well as the most advanced methodology of breeding management in Vietnam. Simutaneously, we will take the best advantages of Cargill’s global knowledge, relations and position to transfer the most practical experiences and newest initiatives to Vietnam.
