A conner of pulp material forest in Binh Dinh Province. |
Vietnamese Prime Minister has just given his approval to a project of constructing a 150-million-tan-yearly capacity pulp processing plant in Binh Dinh Province. The Prime Minister also assigns People’s Committee of Binh Dinh Province to appraise the project and make investment decision in accordance with relavant law in force.
Previously, People’s Committee of Binh Dinh Province submitted a proposal to the Prime Minister, asking for Saigon Invest Group to invest in the pulp processing plant at Nhon Hoa Commune, An Nhon District. Total capital of the project is expected to be at VND 2,500 billion (USD 15,625 thousand). Eucalyptus and acacia forests to supply the plant with pulp will cover an area of 45,000 square hectares. The plant will be 50-100 square hectares in area and will be put into operation after 27-30 months of construction.
Given the project, potentiality of the An Nhon District and adjacent localities in producing pulp will be put into the best exploitation. Forestation will be encouragingly developed. Ecological environment will be improved. Reform of crop plant structure will be speeded up. After all, the project will positively contribute to the hunger eradication and poverty alleviation programme in remote and mountainous areas.
