In the first quarter of 2007, volume of goods through Quy Nhon Port gained 910,000 tons, increasing 30% in comparison with the same period last year. Exports accounted 510,000 tons, imports made up nearly 240.000 tons and domestic goods took the rest of the volume.
In order to satisfy needs of goods owners and ship owners, Quy Nhon Port assigned its staff to work 4 consecutive shifts round the clock, mobilizing all of its available discharging equipments and facilities to quickly free the ships in particular busy days. Avarage daily capacity of uploading and discharging the goods reached unprecedented record of 10,000 tons.
Volume of goods through the port is on trend of increase. So, the port is planning to equip more discharging facilities and invest in a thousand of billion VND worth of project to expand its available yards. The capacity will be strengthened and the needs of the customers will be better satisfied.
