500-megawatt- thermoelectric plant to be built in Binh Dinh

The Ministry of Industry agreed to Binh Dinh’s proposal to build a thermoelectric plant with the total capacity of 500 megawatts (MWs) at Cat Khanh hamlet, Phu Cat district. This project has the capital of 500 million USD.

The plant will be built with 100% capital of Boustead Group-Singapore under the BOO mode of investment (investment-possession-business) and will operate in 50 years. The Ministry of Industry is going to notify the prime minister about this project to approve in the coming time.

The construction of the thermoelectric plant is listed in the Binh Dinh’s socio-economic development project to the year 2020, meeting the province’s demand for electric in the production and daily activities. The capacity meeting the province’s demand for electric is forecasted to be 300 MWs in 2020, increasing 175 MWs compared to the present time.
