Mr. Hiromi Takeuchi

Mr. Hiromi Takeuchi - representative of Japanese Institute of New Industrial Technology Development (INITD) has visited Binh Dinh and discussed the conduction of “Treat the water supply in Binh Dinh” project. Binh Dinh newspaper reporter interviewed him on this issue.

* Could you briefly introduce INITD?

INITD is a Japan and world leading research institute under the Japanese Government. The institute studies the application of new technologies in many fields. The INITD’s plasma physics research center is the governing body of new projects development board in which I’m the director. Our institute specializes in the environmental treatment.

* What makes you leave for Binh Dinh province?

My Japanese friend is a Binh Dinh born person. Thanks to him, I knew that Binh Dinh is a province which had been severely damaged by the war, so I arrived in my friend’s homeland to see if I can do anything to help this province and its people. From July 2006 until now I have left for Binh Dinh for 5 times. I, as a representative of a non-governmental organization, had come to Binh Dinh beforehand. Under any position, we all want to help Binh Dinh as much as possible.

* Could you tell me about work you had done here?

In the previous arrivals, we came to places where the war took place most violently years ago and the most polluted lands to take samples of water, soil and plants for researching and finding appropriate technologies for the environmental treatment. We have recently handed all results of the study and solutions for the water treatment over the provincial leadership.

Binh Dinh province People’s Committee and we have signed a memorandum cooperating in the construction and conduction of the “treat polluted water supply in Binh Dinh” project. INITD will be responsible for supporting equipments and technologies for the water supply treatment, preparing related documents as soon as possible, and canvassing sponsors from Japan under Vietnamese Government’s regulations on sponsorship. Vice-chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh pledged that Binh Dinh would create best conditions for the Institute to prepare all necessary things for the project in Binh Dinh and submitted the project to the Government for approval in the earliest time.

* If the project is conducted, what results will it bring?

With INITD’s present, if the project is conducted, it not only upgrades the living standard of Binh Dinh’s people but also makes Japanese and foreign investors feel secure when they choose Binh Dinh for their long-term investment.

We thanks to the provincial leadership and functional bodies for creating favourable conditions. We hope that we will again receive the valuable assistance in the coming time and have more closely cooperation with the provincial leadership and functional bodies so that the project will be able to conducted early.
