PM approves transportation projects in Binh Dinh

The Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Minister of Transport and Communication Ho Nghia Dung approved many important transportation projects to be conducted in Binh Dinh, according to Chairman of Binh Dinh province People’s Committee Vu Hoang Ha.

Accordingly, with the project of extending the Quy Nhon seaport from 80 to 120 meters, the reef will be destroyed so that 30,000 DWT-ships can easily berth at the port. The PM and the Ministry of Transport and Communication also urged the equitisation of the Quy Nhon seaport.

With the project of installing lights at the Phu Cat airport for night flights and big planes, the PM steered functional bodies to soon finish by 2008. In this time, if the number of passengers increase, the Vietnam Airline Corporation have to ensure the increase of flights.

The PM and Minister of Transport and Communication also steered Binh Dinh to hire a five-star train for the Ho Chi Minh City-Quy Nhon route within 8 hours.

The aim of the projects is to meet the ever-increasing arrival of investors to Binh Dinh. They will be started and finished by 2008.
