The construction of Nhon Hoi Economic Zone’s (EZ) industrial park B is now being sped up. Binh Dinh Newspaper’s reporter Cat Hung spoke with General Director of Hong Yeung Vietnam Co., Ltd, Tu Phong Boi, about the issue.
Could you talk about the construction of infrastructure in the industrial park B?
Hong Yeung Vietnam Co., Ltd kicked off the construction in September 26, 2007. However, due to preparations for administrative procedure, study, and equipment, we have just sped up the construction since early 2008.
At present, we are continuing to level the land and build works. All are smoothly running.
The 446.8 ha industrial park locating between hamlets of Hoi Thanh and Hoi Tan will be invested with the capital of 546.7 billion VND (roughly 34 million USD).
What were difficulties?
A considerable difficulty is the change of the plan, badly affecting the progress. Due to the change of height, for example, between the industrial B and C, we had to rebuild some roads and drainage system, causing a waste of 8 million VND.
We highly appreciated the provincial leaders’ determination when they committed that investors’ benefits are Binh Dinh’s benefits.
But some functional bodies haven’t created favorable conditions for investors. They still required some unnecessary administrative procedures.
How about the investment promotion?
We are greatly concerned of the issue. The company has strengthened the investment promotion in many countries and territories.
As a result, more than 30 foreign investors have come to Binh Dinh to seek investment opportunities in industrial park B in the past two months. Many committed to invest in Binh Dinh.
Currently, we have been furthering the investment promotion in some countries. We are participating in some investment expos in the coming time.
Furlander Company, for example, registered to invest in building a turbine factory. A Chinese group decided to build a starch processing plant in the industrial park B, let alone other investors from Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Besides the modern infrastructure, the industrial park B owns other advantages, connecting with Chu Lai open EZ, Dung Quat industrial zone, and Van Phong EZ. We do believe, therefore, that investors will be pleased with their investment in the industrial park.
