The 2008’s socio-economic situation in Binh Dinh has continued to be improved. The gross domestic product grew by 10.94% over 2007, including agricultural-forest-aquatic products 7.5%, construction and industry 16.85%, services 10.2%.

Binh Dinh provincial People’s Committee announced the statistics at the meeting on the 2008’s socio-economic situation, directions and tasks for 2009 held on November 24.

Social-cultural activities have showed their effectiveness, the people’s living standard in many areas has been improved, and the national defense, public order, as well as the security were all kept stable, according to the reports.

Still, participants pointed out some drawbacks, such as unstable economic growth, slow ground clearance and construction of industrial zones, and inefficient management of some fields.

The 2009’s socio-economic situation will face many difficulties due to the fluctuation in the world’s economy. Provincial People’s Committee steered bodies and enterprises to make more efforts to overcome challenges.
