Accompanying the Binh Dinh’s delegation in the visit to southern provinces of China, Binh Dinh Newspaper’s reporter spoke with the consul general of Vietnam in Guangdong province Le Ngoc Thu about the support for attracting the investment into Binh Dinh.

What do you think about Binh Dinh’s investment promotion activities in China?
The relationship between Vietnam and China as well as Guangdong province has become better and better in the past years under the motto of “friendly neighbourliness, comprehensive cooperation, long-term stability, and future orientation”.
It could be considered as a breakthrough when Binh Dinh held the investment promotion conference in Guangdong to attract the investment into Binh Dinh and Nhon Hoi Economic Zone (EZ). The activities were timely and significant, particularly after the visit by the Secretary of China’s Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, Wang Yang, to Vietnam.
At present, Guangdong province has the great economic potential with economic hubs like Shenzhen, Macau, and Guangzhou, ranking as one of the leading cities in China in all fields. Guangdong’s investors is targeting at Vietnam as a springboard for promoting their investment cooperation in the whole region.
At the conference, many investors coming from Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Macau, and Nanning were concerned of Nhon Hoi EZ. I do believe that many will visit Binh Dinh in the coming time.
Vietnamese consumers are now worrying about China’s poor quality products flooding in Vietnam and some China’s businesses haven’t focused on the environment protection. What do you think?
The consumers in the world are also worrying about such issues as environmental pollution, fake goods, and melamine contained Chinese milk. China Government has issued many measures to tackle the problems, particularly goods for export and its investment abroad.
Could you forecast the investment attraction of Nhon Hoi EZ after the conference?
Before investment promotion events held by Hong Yeung Vietnam Co., Ltd and the conference, Chinese investors had mainly invested in northern and southern provinces of Vietnam. But they now know Binh Dinh as one of an attractive destination in the Central key economic region.
Besides investment incentive policies, the Nhon Hoi EZ has many advantages. Surely, many Chinese investors will come to seek investment opportunities in Binh Dinh.
What are you doing to help attract investors to Binh Dinh?
The consulate general of Vietnam in Guangdong was involved in many fields, including the support for the cooperation between Guangdong province and Vietnam as well as provinces of Vietnam.
Any cooperation between Guangdong and Binh Dinh will be our first priority in the future, aiming to help strengthen the relationship between two provinces. We are happy to partly contribute to the socio-economic development in Binh Dinh.
