GMS: Quy Nhon planned as gateway to East sea
18:15', 8/4/ 2008 (GMT+7)

Under the initiative by Asia Development Bank, the Greater Mekong Subregion was formed in 1992, including Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, and China’s Yunnan province.

GMS approved Mekong Subregion traffic Strategy for the 2006-2015 period last year to adjust the economic corridors in the subregion, opening a new route connected with India.

Under the plan, Vietnam has two more gateways, that is, Quy Nhon and Thanh Hoa, alongside three gateways to the East sea, including HCM City, Hai Phong, and Da Nang.
