Binh Dinh province in the southern central region has well preserved nature and rich culture and history. The province has potentials and advantages to offer different kinds of tours.

Over the past several years, Binh Dinh saw dramatic changes and realized important development strategies. Important projects that were built and implemented in the province include the Nhon Hoi Economic Zone, Thi Nai Bridge, Quy Nhon-Song Cau road, Quy Nhon Port, Thi Nai port and the Phuong Mai peninsula development project, among other projects. Binh Dinh is changing every day to become an important socioeconomic center in Vietnam, while the provincial tourism sector is proving its increasingly important role in promoting tourism development in the local region.

Binh Dinh has a strategic location, as it is convenient to develop economic and tourism cooperation with most of economic, industrial and tourism centers in Vietnam and other ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) countries like Laos, Thailand and Cambodia and the Asia Pacific. Binh Dinh borders the ocean so it has nice beaches and plentiful sea-based natural resources. Regarding human culture, Binh Dinh ranks fifth among provinces and cities nationwide, after Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and Thua Thien Hue. Binh Dinh offers a diverse range of tours including eco-tours, tours to occupational villages, culture-learning tours and more.

On August 13, 2004, the Prime Minister issued Decision 148/2004/QD-TTg on developing the central key economic zone, which says that Binh Dinh is part of this key economic zone. On September 5, 2004, the Prime Minister’s Office announced the Prime Minister’s conclusion indicating that Binh Dinh is added to the list of important national tourist centers. Provincial branches and authorities are working hard to realize this policy – developing Binh Dinh into an important national tourist center.

Apart from projects upgrading National Highway 1A and the North-South railway, capital will be invested in building different transport routes inside the province, with priority given to construction of roads going to tourist sites. Binh Dinh needs to encourage investment in developing infrastructure in localities accommodating tourists sites and prioritize investment in airway transportation infrastructure development because Binh Dinh is located far from the country’s major tourist centers. It is important to develop waterway transportation through building wharves specifically designed for domestic and foreign tourist vessels and other projects.

Works to be done by Binh Dinh include 1) construction of infrastructure serving tourists to the Phuong Mai-Nui Ba tourist site, 2) building international standard tourist sites in Trung Luong, Vinh Hoi, Tan Thanh and Hai Giang, 3) constructing and exploiting Ghenh Rang, Vung Chua, Long Van, Bai Xep and Dao Yen (swallow island) tourist sites and sea dive centers, 4) upgrading the Quang Trung Museum, 5) restoring the Hoang De citadel, Cham towers and other historical and cultural relics sites, 6) building eco-tourist sites including Ham Ho, Nui Mot, Dinh Binh, Vinh Son, Hoi Van and areas bordering Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces, 7) constructing occupational villages to make fine art articles, brocades, Bau Da alcohol and Song Than noodle and forging and casting villages, and 8) producing souvenirs and offering Binh Dinh special foods.
