Cargill cattle feed factory has operated in Long My industrial zone since March, 2007. Binh Dinh Newspaper’s reporter interviewed representative of Cargill Company in Vietnam, Nguyen Minh Tri about its operation.
* Could you talk about the operation of Cargill cattle feed factory in Binh Dinh?
It has fully operated to meet demands in central provinces and Central Highlands. It also helped other Cargill’s factories in Vietnam.
The factory is able to take full advantage of Quy Nhon Port for the transportation and use the raw material as well as all types of aquatic products.
It has also created jobs for local people and saved time for the distribution.
* How did the inflation influence Cargill’s operation?
The sudden change of price didn’t much affect Cargill’s operation and output. The capital and profit were affected, more or less.
Cargill has strived to ensure the stable raw material, both quality and quantity, for the production. Difficulties such as the fluctuation of rate of exchange and high interest rate required us to increase the price.
* What are solutions for difficulties?
The rate of inflation, banking interest, and rate of exchange are main difficulties. Cargill, however, is a big group in the world. It has experienced many world economy crises and well developed so far.
Cargill has frequently shared the information on cattle-feed market and provided training courses for agents and seminars for farmers.
We also often visit farms to provide expert advice and technical support. We do believe that breeders and customers will share difficulties with Cargill for the sustainable development.
