Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee on August 16 held a meeting with six economic groups and State-owned corporations.

They include Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (Vinashin), Vietnam National Shipping Lines (Vinalines), Vinaconex Corporation, and Vietnam Airline Corporation.

Chairman of BIDV’s Board of Directors Tran Bac Ha presented projects planned to be invested in Binh Dinh, consisting of Nhon Hoi seaport, Tan Thanh golf course and resort, Nhon Hoi deep-water port, thermoelectric plant, shipbuilding area in Cat Khanh Commune, six star resort in Quy Nhon, granite processing, and the cooperation in labor training and export.

They were also concerned of the number of flights for Quy Nhon-HCM City and Quy Nhon-Da Nang routes. Phu Cat Airport needs to be upgraded to become an international when possible.

Permanent Vice Chairman of provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Thien affirmed that projects are suitable to Binh Dinh’s planning for economic development.

Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee would steer Nhon Hoi Economic Zone Administration and relevant bodies to create all favorable conditions for their investment, he said.

Economic groups and State-owned Corporations needed to promptly work out detailed plans for each project, Thien added.
