The biogas project for the animal husbandry has been carried out in Binh Dinh since 2004. After 5 years, it proved effective, reducing the environmental pollution and creating fuel for daily activities.
Binh Dinh was selected to join the biogas project in 2004, aiming to develop the breeding sustainably. Each was aided with VND1 million after being completely built. Until now, there have been 3,971 biogas works built in the whole province.
These biogas works provided fuel for daily activities in rural areas, reducing the environmental pollution. Most biogas works were built in Districts, such as Tay Son, Tuy Phuoc, and Hoai Nhon.
The biogas project was sponsored by the Dutch Government. It targets the sustainable breeding development. Also, the project helps reduce the environmental pollution and “greenhouse” effect and create fuel for households in rural areas. Binh Dinh is one of 12 province participating in the project since 2004. Until now, most biogas works prove effective. |
Biogas works have effectively operated in most households, according to farmers who participated in the project. The animal breeding waste is treated to generate fuel instead of using firewood.
The production of fuel from animal breeding waste helped to reduce the deforestation and environmental pollution in rural areas.
The project aided not only the construction of biogas works but the technician and highly skilled building worker training. Farmers were also instructed to use waste from biogas works in the making of cattle-feed and fertilizer, according to Dao Van Hung, deputy head of provincial biogas project.
As planned, the biogas project will be carried out from 2009 to 2012. This means that more than 4,000 biogas works are expected to be built in Binh Dinh in the next three years.
