8-month socio-economic situation stably grows

Binh Dinh’s socio-economic situation has stably developed in the first 8 months of 2008, according to reports presented at the meeting held on September 5.

Chairman of Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee Nguyen Van Thien chaired the meeting. Participants also talked about tasks in the coming time.

The report stated the industrial production value reached over VND 3 trillion, a surge of 16 percent. The export turnover recorded US$260 million, an increase of 22 percent.

Other socio-cultural activities were improved positively, the public order was kept stable, and the traffic accidents tended to reduce, according to reports.

Chairman Thien steered provincial bodies to focus on such tasks as the industry development, afforestation projects, key works construction, and measures for traffic safety.
