Many co-operatives effectively operate

Binh Dinh province’s collective economy has strongly developed recently. There are more and more co-operatives judged to well perform, helping improve their members’ living standard.

Statistics released by branch of co-operative and rural development under provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development showed that most co-operatives have been performing under various forms, combining the production with services.

After changing from old model to new, co-operatives have proved their role in production activities. The co-operative management has been gradually improved. Services and industries were diversified, making the business more profitable.

In the agriculture sector, most agriculture co-operatives were strengthened, aiding the management and production. At present, co-operatives tend to cooperate with each other and enterprises, helping provide agricultural materials for members and consume agricultural products.

Alongside the diversification of services, co-operatives have also invested in fields of processing and trade, attracting the investment capital and creating jobs for local people. Thanks to feasible plans and stable markets, the business has become more effective.

Binh Dinh town’s agriculture co-operative is, for example, involving various services. Its turnover reached over VND60 billion in the first eight months.

Other transport co-operatives, such as Binh Dinh, Hoai Nhon, Phu Cat, and An Nhon are now performing their services. They invested in petrol, warehouse, public transport, and other services. Many co-operatives have operated under the model of company to improve their performance.

With various services and effective operation, many co-operatives have reaped high profit annually, improving their members’ living standard.

“To help the collective economy prove its effectiveness, we will aid local authorities in classify co-operatives to work out measures for better operation. We also plan to build new models of co-operative and spread co-operatives which have effectively performed,” said Bui Dac Cuong, head of Agriculture Development and Co-operative Branch.

Co-operatives must link with their partners to expand their business. The investment needs to focus on fields that meet social demands, he added.
