The project No.191 on information and communication technology (ICT) application for small and medium-size enterprises to increase the competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises in the global economic integration process has been implemented in Binh Dinh for four years. Could you brief me on the implementation of project No. 191 in Binh Dinh?

The project No. 191 approved by the Prime Minister on July 29, 2005 aims to improve the ICT application in Vietnamese enterprises, particularly small and medium-sized ones, offer the manpower training in the field of ICT, and help enterprises carry out suitable ICT measures.
Alongside these, it is expected to assist businesses in joining the e-commerce and create favourable conditions for ICT application.
Series of activities under the project have been implemented nationwide, including surveys of ICT application in business, propaganda via seminars and publications, and human resources training.
Binh Dinh has implemented the project since early 2006. The Department of Information and Communications coordinated with Da Nang-based Institute of Information Technology for Business to carry out a study on the ICT application in businesses.
The results showed there still existed some problems in applying ICT in businesses. Two above-mentioned bodies have, therefore, organized many seminars providing ICT solutions and training courses for enterprises in the past four years.
How about changes after four years of implementing the project?
Many businesses were well aware of the importance of the project No.191. They thoroughly understand the ICT application is necessary to enhance their competitiveness in the global economic integration process.
In 2008, Binh Dinh Lottery Company was the first one in Binh Dinh honored with an award for small and medium-sized enterprises applying ICT effectively.
This could be a good sign, encouraging other enterprises to apply ICT for their production.
How will the project be continued in the coming time?
Under the project, many seminars were held, aiming to help enterprises approach new technologies and ICT solution providers.
These events proved effectively; therefore, they will continue to take place in the coming time. Also, some typical businesses will be selected to be further supported in enhancing the effectiveness of the ICT application.
