Free crop seed going to storm-hit areas

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) is to send free supplies consisting of over 2,100 tonnes of crop seeds to farmers in storm-hit provinces.

The supplies, allocated under the direction of the Prime Minister on November 20, include 1,800 tonnes of rice seed, 200 tonnes of maize seed and 80 tonnes of vegetables seeds.

All the beneficiary provinces and cities are in the central region and the Central Highlands, which were the hardest-hit by two recent deadly storms.
