Binh Dinh’s entrepreneurs visited southern provinces of Laos, carrying out the trade promotion in the provinces. The visit aimed at implementing the cooperation agreement between Binh Dinh and southern provinces of Laos, according to director of the province’s Trade Promotion Center, Van Huu Dinh. Binh Dinh businesses also had more chances to extend their markets.

Could you brief on the visit?

We held meetings with the Departments of Industry and Trade in some provinces, such as Attapeu, Sekong, and Champassak. The delegation also sought investment opportunities in different fields.

We carried out a survey at some markets and trade center in these southern provinces of Attapeu and Sekong, aiming to distribute products of Binh Dinh’s companies there.

In Champassak province, many activities were held. An important issue mentioned during the visit was the construction of Binh Dinh Trade Center in Champassak.

Participants had an opportunity to find their partners to distribute goods at markets and border gates in the province.

How about the results?

The visit took place from March 1 to 7 in four southern provinces of Laos, reaping encouraging achievements.

Binh Dinh’s businesses were provided with more information about investment policies and administrative procedure.

Attapeu’s Department of Electricity and Minerals introduced small-scaled hydroelectric projects, minerals reserves, and other issues. Two sides agreed on issues relating to the cooperation and trade promotion for mutual benefits between two provinces.

Two provinces of Binh Dinh and Attapeu also agreed to focus on some potential fields of granite and bamboo and create favourable conditions for businesses to export and import their products, giving priority to agricultural products and fresh food.

In Sekong province, representatives of the province’s Office of Foreign Affairs presented the rubber tree planting and the potential of some mechanical industries, such as machines for agriculture machines and farming equipment.

Sekong also has the potential of mineral reserves and 12 projects calling for investment. Binh Dinh’s businesses were invited to invest in building a trade center in Sekong and a market in Thateng District.

Binh Dinh’s businesses are expected to have favorable conditions to develop their business in Laos after the visit.
