Kim Cuc Construction & Investment Co., Ltd held a workshop on the Metro-Kim Cuc services development center project. Many consultancies participated in the workshop. Binh Dinh Newspaper’s reporter talked with two architects about the project.

Architect David Dreadon, New Zealand-based Diffill Watts & Tse Company:

Could you brief on the company?

Diffill Watts & Tse was founded in 1950 in New Zealand, specializing in construction. The company now has over 5,000 employees worldwide.

Diffill Watts & Tse has been presented in Vietnam since 1994 and participated in many projects in different provinces and cities.

What do you think about the project?

The project has many advantages. It locates near the sea, offering a panorama of the city. Lying on the mountain side with beautiful streams, it will be very suitable for those who love fresh air and separate environment.

I saw no disadvantages except that the project is quite new in Vietnam. Those who want to live here, therefore, have to get acquainted with it.

What are modern and traditional features of the project, in your opinion?

The center will include some traditional architectural features, let alone cultural and historical statues involved.

The project is also designed with new and multi-functional services that are expected to be further developed in the future.

Architect Khuong Van Muoi, HCM City Architects’ Association:

What do you think about the project?

This is the first multi-functional project in Vietnam. It comprises of a chain of architectural complex locating separately. The environmentally friendly architecture is expected to create a harmonious blend of landscape and people who will live there.

The project has particular requirements which modern projects have to meet, such as good living environment and high living standard.

The project’s owner and consultancies are all aware that a house is not for living only. How and where to build a house are also important.

Living standard is the culture, the life style, and the behaviour between people and nature. The complex will be, therefore, built with separate parts in the forest, near the stream, or on the peak of the hill.

What do you think about Quy Nhon city’s architecture?

Quy Nhon is a coastal and peaceful city; however, something must be done. The city’s residential areas have indistinct functions. It is necessary to clearly identify central areas, trade center, hotels, and other parts. Streets connecting to central areas need redecorating to create favourable conditions for other services.

Quy Nhon has a beautiful beach which has been gradually explored. It is for the whole community; therefore, it must be connected to other areas.
