The province’s businesses, particularly import-export companies, have faced many difficulties due to the global economic regression.

The province’s export turnover was estimated to reach US$23.4 million in March, a reduction of 41.5 percent against the last year’s corresponding period, Binh Dinh Department of Industry and Trade released.

The first quarter saw the export turnover value of US$91 million, accounting for 23 percent of the yearly plan.

Foreign-invested enterprises saw a 30 percent export turnover value decrease, private enterprises 19 percent, and State-owned enterprises 4 percent.

Some groups of products saw most export turnover value decreases, with a 21 percent fall in forest products, an 11 percent decline in agriculture, and 54 percent decrease in minerals and building materials.
