Nhon Hoi commune on Mar. 24 held a ceremony, marking its 30th founding anniversary. At present, it has become a “destination” after Thi Nai Bridge and Nhon Hoi Economic Zone were built.

Nhon Hoi commune, founded on March 24, 1979, locates on an area of 4,028 ha. Before the Thi Nai Bridge was built, the local authority and its people had overcome scores of difficulties to improve their living standard.

After years, Nhon Hoi’s economy has more and more developed. The infrastructure has been effectively invested. “After 30 years of foundation, the commune has reaped considerable achievements,” said Chairman of Nhon Hoi commune People’s Committee Tran Van Khiem. “The local authority steered its functional bodies to complete their tasks. The public order and national defense are well paid attention to. We are always concerned of beneficiaries and poor households.”

“My family, generation after generation, lives in Nhon Hoi. The locals have been happy with their work during years, believing in the Party and State’s policies and directions,” said 67-year-old Nguyen Duc Thien, a commune’s senior official.

The construction of Thi Nai Bridge was started on March 31, 2001, bridging Nhon Hoi and Quy Nhon city. Nhon Hoi Economic Zone was kicked off then. These could be seen as positive signs for the development of a remote commune.

At present, many projects have been kicked off in Nhon Hoi, such as 70-ha Nhon Phuoc resettlement area, road No 639 project, Nhon Hoi-Nhon Ly road, and Nhon Hoi tourism site.

The commune is rising after sleeping for years, promising a bright future for the locals. “The Nhon Hoi Economic Zone has brought us a belief in the future,” said 61-year-old Mai.

Nhon Hoi is changing vigorously, becoming a dynamic economic zone. Its land and people are expected to benefit from these changes.

“The local authority particularly focus on the mass mobilization,” Khiem added. “In the short term, the locals are encouraged to develop the aquaculture and services. Young people are also encouraged to attend vocational training courses.”
