The Prime Minister has signed the Decision No 54 on approving the overall target for socio-economic development in central Binh Dinh province by 2020.
Accordingly, Binh Dinh will strive to become a modern industrial province and one of socio-economic hubs by 2020, contributing to the development of the central key economic region.
Also, the province’s gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to reach 14.8 percent from 2006-2020. The average GDP per capita is set to record at US$4,000 by 2020. Quy Nhon city is oriented to become the first-grade city in the future.
The province’s industrial production value is forecasted to grow by 24 percent each year in the period of 2016-2020. Advantageous industries, such as aquatic product, wood processing, pulp, and forest product will be developed.
The development of Nhon Hoi Economic Zone will be focused on, let alone other industrial zones like Phu Tai, Long My, Nhon Hoa, and Hoa Hoi.
The agricultural sector and fisheries will also see considerable changes in the next few years, aiming to strengthen the agricultural mechanism adjustment, afforestation, and offshore fishing.
The province planned to improve some main national highways by 2010. The Quang Ngai-Quy Nhon-Nha Trang highway connected to the national highway system will be built in the period of 2010-2020.
The province also focuses on other social issues, such as preschool education and heath system.
