A workshop on the International Furniture Fair Singapore 2010 and 27th ASEAN Furniture Show (IFFS/AFS 2010) has been held in Quy Nhon city recently. Binh Dinh Newspaper’s Viet Hien had a talk with Mr Richard Koh, the Chief Operating Officer of International Furniture Fair Singapore (IFFS) Pte Ltd.
What is the purpose of the workshop taking place in Quy Nhon?
It aimed to offer an opportunity to the province’s woodwork exporters to join IFFS/AFS 2010, particularly small-and medium-sized ones.
Joining the event, enterprises in Binh Dinh will have more chances to advertise their products, find new partners and markets, and strengthen the trade and investment promotion.
Could you talk more about IFFS/AFS?
IFFS/AFS 2010 is Asia's one-stop sourcing haven with a global representation of over 100,000 pieces of high quality furniture from more than 30 countries. It is scheduled to take place in March annually, on an area of 60,000 square meters at Singapore Expo.
International Furniture Fair Singapore Pte Ltd organizes the event, aiming to assist exporters worldwide in strengthening the trade promotion and finding partners.
How about IFFS/AFS 2010?
IFFS/AFS 2010 is scheduled to take place from March 9-12 next year.
A fascinating array of quality, well-designed furnishings from 470 enterprises and exhibitors from 33 countries is expected to be showcased at IFFS/AFS 2010.
The event will be also forecasted to see about 15,600 trade visitors from 118 countries, including America, Japan, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, and European countries.
What do you think about opportunities for Vietnam’s exporters at IFFS/AFS?
IFFS/AFS is a value opportunity for woodwork exporters from Vietnam to exhibit their products and carry out trade promotion activities.
They have high-quality products with distinctive designs and competitive prices. At previous IFFS/AFS, a Vietnamese exporter was honored for its unique products.
However, Vietnamese exporters still have shortcomings, such as skills in marketing, presentation and showcase. What’s more, some often overcharge trade visitors for their products.
A few of Vietnamese entrepreneurs couldn’t speak English, partly affecting their business.
