Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Ho Quoc Dung received the Fulbright Economics Teaching Program’s (FETP) researchers headed by Prof. Malcolm Frederick McPherson on July 13.

Two sides talked about the land development in rural areas in Binh Dinh.

Dung briefed them on the province’s socio-economic situation and potential for economic growth.

The Fulbright Economics Teaching Program is a partnership of the HCM City-based University of Economics and the Harvard Kennedy School, offering the Master in Public Policy program and research into complex policy issues confronting Vietnam.

At present, FETP has coordinated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to implement a project on conducting a comprehensive assessment of the socio-economic impact of land policy on rural development and recommending new policies.

The UNDP-funded project is expected to be implemented in six provinces, including Binh Dinh.
