Economy shows signs of recovery in first 9 months

The province’s economy has showed signs of recovery and growth, according to the report for the first 9 months and tasks in the fourth quarter this year released by Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee.

Accordingly, the local GDP reached an estimated value of VND7,218.3 billion, a 10.65 percent increase in compared to the same period last year.

The growth rate in the first 9 months of 2010 was also 1.71 percent higher than the same period of 2009, in which agro-forestry-aquatic products got a rise of 5.9 percent, industry and construction achieved an increase of 14.39 percent, and services reached 13.49 percent.

In term of economic structure, the agriculture, forestry and aquaculture made up 38.73 percent, industry and construction made up 26.97 percent while the services accounted for 34.30 percent.

The socio-cultural activities also obtained encouraging achievements.  The social welfare was ensured, the locals’ living standards were improved, and the national defense and security were under control.
