A conference on review of the province’s 2010 socio-economic situation and plan socio-economic development for 2011 has just been organized by Binh Dinh People’s Committee. Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Huu Loc chaired the conference.
As in the report by the provincial People’s Committee, Binh Dinh kept its relatively good economic recovery and growth in 2010. Its GDP growth rate gained over 11%, in which growth rate value of agricultural-forest-aquacultural production got over 7.4%; of industry and construction sectors over 14.5%; of services nearly 12%; export turnover value reached nearly US$ 430 million. Total local budget revenue was 5% higher than the budget forecast and 6.4% higher than the previous year. Socio-cultural situation was improved. Social security was secured. Security and defence situation was stable.
Encouraged by the achieved results, the provincial People’s Committee set higher target of economic growth in 2011 in association with renovation of growth model and structure change; push up the production, enhance productivity, quality and efficiency of the economy, partly help stabilize the macro-economy and inflation, ensure the social security and improve the local people’s living standard.
The committee set out specific target of 12% GDP growth in 2011, in which growth rate in the sectors of agricultural-forest-aquacultural production was 6,5%, industry and construction 18%, services 12,5%, etc. In order to meet the target, the Permanent Vice Chairman Le Huu Loc asked the local agencies to keep on their infrastructure development plans as ways to attract more investments and promote the production, pushing up more multi-agency collaboration in handling problems raised during the task performance, paying more attention to human resources training and development, reforming administration procedures to attract more investment, etc. In the short term, the local agencies had to help the local people make good the damages caused by the floods, quickly return to normal lives and production, prepare well for the forthcoming Winter-Spring crops.
