Binh Dinh built an action plan for the fast and sustainable development of tourism in 2011. More than VND7 trillion, of which the State budget finances over VND1 trillion and businesses contribute nearly VND6 trillion, was mobilized for the tourism development.

The tourism sector is expected to become a key industry greatly contributing to the province’s industrialization and modernization process and making it deserve to be one of the hubs in the central key economic region.
Recently, Binh Dinh has focused on building some programs to join the National Tourism Year 2011: South Central Coast and host the first Vietnam forest product festival in late March.
The province also planned to promote the planning and infrastructure construction in some key tourism site, such as Trung Luong, Vinh Hoi, Hai Giang, Quy Nhon-Song Cau tourism route, and other tourism services, in the 2011-2015 period.
Cultural, historical and ecological tourism is given priority while the authorities will take full advantage of other tourism sites, including Ghenh Rang, Vung Chua, Xuan Van, Bai Xep, and Bai Dai.
Alongside the Phu Hoa Lake tourism site, the tomb of Han Mac Tu and the Quy Nhon – An Nhon – Tay Son tourism route will also be explored, aiming to develop services related to the cultural, historical and ecological tourism.
38 traditional craft villages were also listed in the province’s tourism development planning, let alone the eco-tourism route for Ham Ho and Nui Mot Lake.
Domestic and foreign investors are encouraged to build large-scale tourism site, meeting international standards. Also, the Thi Nai lagoon and mangrove forest have potential for the eco-tourism development.
The Tay Son-Binh Dinh festival, sea, and traditional martial arts are other unique features helping the province focus on developing the cultural and historical tourism.
Binh Dinh is now boosting the tourism promotion activities in other countries, particularly Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand.
The number of tourists coming to Binh Dinh averagely increases 25.7 percent per year in the past five years.
Binh Dinh saw 970,000 visitors, including 79,015 foreigners, last year, a rise of 25 percent. The tourism’s turnover reached over VND276 billion, a surge of 29 percent against 2009.
