Alongside the preferential policies, Binh Dinh is determined to build an effective strategy, aiming to make a breakthrough for the province’s investment attraction, according to Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Le Huu Loc.
Could you reveal the main purposes of the province’s investment promotion activities?
Located at an important position for the regional and international exchange, Binh Dinh sees great potential to become one of the hub of the central key economic region. After the Nhon Hoi Economic Zone was established, the province has more and more attracted domestic and foreign investors.
In the past years, the local authorities have organized many seminars and investment promotion activities to popularize its advantages, investment opportunities, and incentive policies. The province has seen many initial achievements; however, there are not many large-scale projects.
As I said, the result of investment attraction program fell short of expectations.
Which fields are the province’s top priorities in this period?
We always focus on potential and experienced investors. The Nhon Hoi EZ was established in 2005 with the target of attracting domestic and foreign investors to contribute to the province’s socio-economic development.
The EZ is comprised of non-tariff area, industrial zone, seaport and services, tourist site and new urban areas. It operates with its own preferential mechanism.
The Nhon Hoi EZ is offering many opportunities for all businesses. They are able to invest in key economic sectors, such as hi-tech, deep-water seaport, oil refinery, electronics, tourism, maritime services, finance and banking.
How about other areas in Binh Dinh?
Like other coastral central provinces, Binh Dinh has a beautiful beach which is an advantage for tourism development. The local authorities invited many companies to invest in luxury resort projects.
Alongside this, Quy Nhon city is located on the main location for air, sea, and road routes. It is planned to become a modern urban area.
Many key projects have been proposed, aiming to attract more investors to seek investment opportunities in Quy Nhon city.
What are the differences between Binh Dinh and other provinces in the region?
Binh Dinh People’s Committee has organized many meetings with domestic and foreign investors, aiming to help them access the list of investment projects. Binh Dinh is also able to select potential investors who are capable of investing in the province.
The authorities has officially applied the investment deposit. It is mainly used to confirm the investors’ wishes and determination as well as minimize the risks in investment promotion.
