Last year saw the strong development of the province’s industrial production with the total value of over VND6 trillion, a rise of 13.97 percent against 2009.
Most of companies made huge profits; thus, their employees were handsomely rewarded for their work before the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday.
Most businesses have started their operation early as soon as the three-day Tet holiday ended, such as Binh Dinh Footwear JSC and Sai Gon – Mien Trung Beer JSC, aiming to meet the deadline of their orders.
At Binh Dinh Footwear JSC, nearly 1,500 employees seriously started their works on the early days of the new year. It seems that all of them wanted to effectively fulfill their tasks.
“The company earned an industrial production value of over VND45 billion and export turnover value of US$8.3 million last year,” said the company’s director Vo Ngoc Thuy. “The company will strive to fulfill the growth rate of 5-10 percent in 2011.”
The Quang Trung Mechanics Joint Stock Company also saw a busy atmosphere as the new year began. Known as a highly prestige company producing good products, it has many orders for the new year. “Our work largely depends on the customers,” said the company’s director Cao Dinh Thuan. “We thus have to start working early to meet their orders.”
Many businesses successfully signed a series of orders on the early days of the new year, generating works for their employees. They, therefore, set particular targets: the 2011’s industrial production and export turnover values will reach 15-20 percent compared to 2010.
Thanks to their production in the early days of 2011, the province’s industrial production value was estimated to reach VND622.9 billion in Jan., an increase of 15.7 percent over the same period last year.
Also, January’s export turnover earned more than US$45.5 million, a surge of 15.2 percent compared to the previous year’s corresponding period.
Paying a visit to Binh Dinh Footwear JSC on the fourth day of the first lunar month, provincial Party Chief Nguyen Van Thien highly valued its achievements in 2010 and asked them to pay more attention to its employees’ living standard. He hoped that the company will greatly contribute to the province’s socio-economic development in the new year.
Alongside the businesses’ efforts, the province’s industry and trade sector will also focus on resolving difficulties, creating favourable conditions for businesses.
Accordingly, functional bodies, local authorities, and businesses have worked together to solve the shortcomings, such as infrastructure, manpower, and raw material. The industrial promotion was also strengthened, let alone preferential policies for craft villages.
Coming to businesses on the early days of the new year and seeing their busy atmosphere, we do believe that they will score many successes in 2011, contributing to the development of local industry.
