The First Vietnam Forest Products Festival – Binh Dinh 2011 ended on March 28 at Quy Nhon City. Central leaders and local authorities attended the closing ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, the provincial Chairman Le Huu Loc emphasized role and meaning of the festival, reviewing results gained in the festival.
104 local businesses and 6 foreign enterprises participated a fair-expo within frame of the festival with 528 stalls. Thousands of participations visited the fair – expo. During 3 days of the festival, more than 100.000 participations visited and purchased with sales up to over 50 billion VND.
More than 30 economic contracts and more than 10 MOUs on co-operation in afforestation, forest exploitation, wood and forest product processing for export and domestic needs were signed. Binh Dinh Timber and Forest Product Association and Binh Duong counterpart agreed to mutual co-operate in developing the interior wood manufacturing and supplying wood materials.
More than 300 managers, scientists and business leaders participated 2011 Vietnam Forestry Forum, giving many reports and speeches with high practical value for the forest product processing and trade in integration with sustainable forest management.
97 organizations and 13 individuals who actively participated and contributed to the festival success were recommended by the organizers to get certificates of merit from Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee.
The organizer and Vietnam Guinness Centre elected 4 products to Vietnam Guinness records, including the biggest statue of Mitreya Buddhist made of rose wood by Hoang Than wood art company (An Khe – Gia Lai), the biggest couple of vase made of hopea ferrea wood, owned by Mr. Nguyen Thai Son (Tuy Hoa – Phu Yen); the biggest couple of vase made of burretiodendron hsienmu and the biggest camp bed made of the burretiodendron hsienmu, owned by Mr. Hong Sy Tung (Thai Nguyen city – Thai Nguyen province) and the biggest fair-expo of wood and forest products by Dat Vo Media and Advertising Co., Ltd.
