87 pct of rural people expected to use clean water

87 pecent of rural people living in Binh Dinh is expected to use clean water until late 2011, according to the local authorities.

119 water supply systems were built, said Director of Binh Dinh Center for clean water and environmental sanitation in rural areas, Ho Dac Chuong. Rural people were also financed to build many wells in different areas.

Most of these works have proved effective, providing clean water for more than 1.2 million rural people.

In 2011, Binh Dinh will continue to build 12 new water supply systems, including some large-scale ones in districts of Tuy Phuoc, Phu Cat, and Vinh Thanh.

The centre coordinated with the localities to extend the water supply network and assist rural people in building more wells.
