Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thien chaired a meeting with the Department of Industry and Trade on April 8.
At the meeting, the Department’s leaders presented reports on the implementation of the provincial Party Congress’s Resolution on the development of industry and trade in the 2006-2010 period.
Accordingly, the province’s commercial and industrial production saw considerable growth in the past five years. The average growth rate of industrial production reaches 16.2 percent every year and the export turnover gains 14.9 percent.
However, the figure is not stable; moreover, the infrastructure construction at industrial zones is slowly carried out while the trade promotion hasn’t fully proved effective.
According to the sector’s draft of the development of industry and trade in the 2011-2015 period, the province’s industrial production value is set the target of nearly VND17 trillion per year until 2015, rising by 21 percent per year and the export turnover is expected to reach US$650 million, increasing by 8.6 percent per year.
Speaking at the meeting, Thien asked the relevant bodies need to re-check all plannings for the infrastructure serving the development of industry and trade and boost the State management capacity. Basing on these issues, the relevant bodies will focus on the construction of industrial zones, aiming to meet investors’ requirements.
