The program, which is also called “Supporting program for rural and mountainous areas”, finished its two phases from 1998 to 2010.
After two phases, it fulfilled the target of building models and transferring technological advances in fields of agriculture, forestry, fishery, and rural development.
The program also aimed to improve capacity, quality, and competitiveness of goods as well as enhance the people’s living standard in rural and mountainous areas.
In Binh Dinh, there were six projects implemented in the 2004-2010 period. They have considerably contributed to the socio-economic development in many localities.
“Most projects proved effective, generating high-quality products, such as polyfe microbiological organic fertilizer, Van Phuoc rice, and Binh Phu brick,” said vice director of Binh Dinh Department of Science and Technology Vo Ngoc Anh.
Alongside these, the projects offered the training courses to hundreds of farmers and engineers. They also generated many employment opportunities for local laborers, increased their income, and raised their awareness of environment protection in agricultural production.
The PM has just approved the expansion of the program for the 2011-2015 period. In the new phase, many specific tasks were involved in the program.
At present, two projects have been carried out in Binh Dinh, promising to reap many positive results.
In addition, Binh Dinh submitted two other projects to the functional bodies for consideration. They are expected to be carried out next year.
