Under the Central and local budgets, Binh Dinh centre for industry promotion and development consultancy offered a total of VND9.25 billion to localities from 2005-2010, helping them build facilities for traditional craft villages.
Also, a sum of VND4.84 billion was funded to build models for technical performance, technology transfer, and small-scale industrial manufacturers.
Most of expenses were used to carry out development and recovery programs, vocational training, and business in rural areas. About 4,000 laborers were, for example, offered vocational training classes.
Under the program, many traditional craft villages have recovered, helping the local residents increase their income and strengthening the rural industry, according to the centre’s director Nguyen Ba Tai.
However, there are still some shortcomings. The number of laborers giving jobs after being trained is still high and the output has faced many difficulties.
The centre will continue support organizations and economic sectors in rural areas in the coming time. It will also popularize projects belonging to the cleaner program and strictly follow criteria for environment protection and waste treatment.
At present, the centre has coordinated with functional bodies and local authorities to implement 13 industry promotion projects in craft villages. As planned, they are expected to be fully implemented by late 2011.
