Sand sliding is one of distinctive tourism services in Binh Dinh.

The Mien Trung (Central) tour operator has designed some new services since 2010, focusing on sea and islands in Binh Dinh. It, thus, saw an increasing number of tourists last year. The company’s director Nguyen Pham Kien Trung talks more about the local tourism this year.

This year is believed to be a tough year for domestic and global economies. What do you think about Binh Dinh’s tourism in 2012?

The local tourism still saw considerable growth in 2011 despite the economic recession. One of important factors contributing to the achievement is the local authorities’ concern for tourism industry. Scores domestic and foreign visitors have come to Binh Dinh in the past years.

The province’s tourism industry might not have a breakthrough this year but it is expected to greatly develop as the means of transport are more convenient, let alone better services.

Also, other programs, such as FamTrip, PressTrip, seminars, and cooperation tours, will prove effective in 2012.

What will your company do to attract tourists?

Besides available services, the company will focus on the sea and island program. There will be other new tours, including Hoi Van mineral spring – historical relics- traditional craft villages or tours for martial arts clubs.

The company also planned to increase the number of staff, meeting tourists’ demands.

There is recently information about sharks in Quy Nhon’s sea. Do you think this will badly affect the sea and island tourism program?

The information about sharks has greatly affected the tourism in Binh Dinh since 2009. However, no more cases have been found after the experts indentified the causes in mid-2010.
