Under the Prime Minister’s Decision, fishermen in Binh Dinh province will get the financial support in the near future, helping them to go fishing offshore confidently.

According to the statistics released by the province’s aquatic Resources Exploitation and Protection Department, there are now 7,791 fishing vessels operating in Binh Dinh, among which 2,135 will be offered the fuel under the PM’s decision.

A total of 2.7 billion VND were allocated to 62 fishing boats which had been qualified for the support. About 1,000 vessels will get the assistance if they finish all requirements in the coming time.

Binh Dinh has effectively implemented the decision, supporting its fishermen to go fishing offshore. Alongside the program, the province’s department handed hundreds of sea maps to fishermen.

The province has also issued its own preferential policies, aiming to encourage its fishermen. Fishing logistics centres are expected to be built in the coming years, serving the offshore fishing vessels.

At present, the Province’s aquatic Resources Exploitation and Protection Department has planned to install Movimar satellite for trawlers to enable captains to locate fishing grounds. This would be both economical and efficient for fishermen and at the same time combine fishing activities with protecting the national sovereignty over sea and islands.
