The global economic recession greatly undermined markets, according to Bidifood’s general director Pham Van Nam. Also, its key products are affected by the government’s policies as they are related to the agricultural production.
Food firms faced many difficulties in 2012 as food prices continually fluctuated while the global rice market was very competitive, he added.
Dealing with challenges, the company proposed suitable measures, ensuring its business strategy, reducing expenditures, and improving its operation.
Bidifood’s operation has achieved positive results in the past 10 years, bringing it many awards during the 2004-2012 period.
Nam said the company’s forthcoming target was to export 85,000 tons of rice, earn more than 1 trillion VND, and gain the export turnover value of 48.5 million USD, despite forecasted difficulties in 2013.
Bidifood will push on with rice-related business activities and actively implement suitable policies. Alongside these, the company will carry out a market survey, expand its operation, and diversify its products.
