Thi Nai Ward People’s Committee coordinated with Quy Nhon Sports-Information-Culture Center to solemnly hold the commemoration ceremony, marking the 707th death anniversary of national hero Tran Hung Dao (1300-2007) on September 30.
Leaders of Quy Nhon city People’s Committee and scores of provincial people attended the ceremony.
At the ceremony, the life and career of Hung Dao Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan (1232-1300), particularly three victories over Yuan-Mongol troops, were reviewed. He is also known as a culture figure with many famous works, such as Binh thu yeu luoc (Book on military strategies) and Hich tuong si (Proclamation to Generals and Soldiers).
After the incense-offering ceremony, acts of worship traditionally took place. Also, a ceremony paying tribute to heroic martyrs was held.
The temple and statue of Tran Hung Dao were granted certificates of the cultural-historical heritage at provincial level.
