"2007's literature is uneventful," said writer Nguyen Huu Quy. This is based on the fact that Vietnamese literature has no blockbuster work in 2007. Binh Dinh literature, on the contrary, got some positive signs.
"Strange striving"
That's of Le Hoai Luong's comment for Binh Dinh literature this year. Many works by author from Binh Dinh have been published on Vietnamese literature magazines and newspapers from August to November.
Their contributions are not much but this, at least, proves the provincial writers' effort such as Tran Thi Huyen Trang, Nguyen Thanh Mung, Le Hoai Luong, Nguyen My Nu, Mai Thin, and Nguyen Thanh Xuan. Their works have become more and more creative.
There have been only four works during 2007, including Miracle by Nguyen Van Chuong, The summer's small gift by Nguyen My Nu, The quite green by Mai Thin, and Love sunshine from earth by Dao Thi Quy Thanh, a 26-year-old writer.
At the end of 2007, writer Nguyen My Nu was admitted as a member of Vietnam Writers' Association. This is an encouraging result because there haven't been any Binh Dinh's writers admitted for six past years.
Still expect writers of forties
There exist worries about young writers because recent years saw none of them having impressive works; meanwhile, those who are in their forties still play the key role.
Dao Thi Quy Thanh is not an exception. She has become more and more mature and her works reflect the life truthfully in recent years. Her impression isn't, however, as young and new as other young writers' nationwide.
The lack of young writers is an alarm for the discovery of young talents in the coming time.More competition for students and activities for young writers need to be frequently held.
