In the late Tuesday afternoon (20^th February), Binh Dinh Province Department of Culture-Information and Tay Son District People’s Committee co-operatively organized celebrations to commemorate the 218^th event of Ngoc Hoi-Dong Da Victory (1789-2007).

In the Spring of 218 years ago, preeminent Quang Trung-Nguyen Hue King commanded a marvellous march of Tay Son insurgent troops to Thang Long (Hanoi capital now). Ha Hoi, Ngoc Hoi and Khuong Thuong-Dong Da posts were attacked suddenly and occupied then. Ten thousands of Chinese Qing invaders were defeated. Thang Long imperial city was liberated.

Ngoc Hoi-Dong Da Victory in the 5^th day of the first lunar month of 1789 is one of the most glorious feet of arms in Vietnamese history of resistance against foreign invaders.

Many leaders of Binh Dinh Province Committee of Communist Party, of People’s Council, People’s Committee, of Vietnamese Fatherland Front, of provincial and municipal bodies and agencies, of other neighbour provinces’ bodies and agencies were present at the event. They all offered flowers and thurified at shrine of the three Tay Son brothers to commemorate the three Tay Son brothers and other generals of Tay Son Movement.

Many activities such as Tay Son traditional martial arts with wardrum beating performance, Gong performance, exhibition of typical food and drink, traditional martial arts contest took place at Dong Da festival.
