The Xuan Dieu literature club under the Binh Dinh Culture and Information Center on June 14 held a meeting to summarize activites in one year and to grant prizes to members whose works were chosen as the best ones in one year (from May, 2006 to May, 2007). The work Dao Tan qua thu tich (Dao Tan in bibliography) written by the researcher Vu Ngoc Lien was offered the club’s official prize. Other four prizes were offered to collections of poems, including Uom mam tren song (Cultivate seeds on wave) (by Vo Ngoc Tho), Long ngong cau the (Waiting for the oath) (Dang Quoc Khanh), Huong oi (Fragrance of guavas) (Nguyen Huu Hanh) and a collection of stories for children Tai dai tai ngan (Long ear and short ear) (Nguyen Van Chuong).
After the award ceremony, there was a meeting between club’s members and the poet Inrasara who won the South East Asia Literature Award in 2005. The poet discussed Vietnamese young poets’ current trends and tendencies in composing and presented his poems belonging to the so-called “new form”.
