16:42', 4/7/ 2007 (GMT+7)

The Ministry of Culture and Information has approved Binh Dinh Culture and Information Department in cooperation with Vietnam Archeology Institute to continuously excavate an area of 400 sp.m of the Forbidden City, Dan Nam Giao (Nam Giao altar), and Emperor Citadel in An Nhon district within two months (from mid-July to September, 2007).

This is the fourth archaeological excavation and may be the last one of the Forbidden City to collect the information for the upcoming scientific seminar on the project of preserving and restoring the historical and cultural value of the Emperor Citadel.

The Emperor Citadel is a historical vestige ranked as the national vestige in 1982. The citadel has many different cultures of Cham and Dai Viet. This is also the headquarter ruled by Nguyen Nhac at the end of the 18th century. The Emperor Citadel is an important historical site during our nation’s task of founding and defending the country.
