The 6th Poem Day is annually held every 15th day of the first lunar months nationwide. On this occasion, Binh Dinh Arts and Literature Association held a night poem performance to mark the Nguyen Tieu Festival at Ghenh Rang tourism site.
"Connect with verses of poems"
In such cold weather, Queen restaurant at Ghenh Rang tourism site, was an ideal venue for the night poem performance. The atmosphere was really cozy. Fans could enjoy poems and listen to the sound of waves at the same time, feeling verses in harmony with the nature.
"If we place our hearts in the connection with verses of poems, we will get the most truthful answers," said poet Nguyen Thanh Mung, chairman of Binh Dinh Arts and Literature Association.
After the performance of "opening drum" by Dao Tan Tuong (classical drama) Theatre, everyone listened to two Uncle Ho's poems, Nguyen Tieu and Chuc tet (New Year's greeting).
Poet Le Van Ngan had started the performance with the "Letter for my hometown" poem. He was then asked a difficult question: "It is said that your poems don’t sound so-called poems. What do you think?". "Each reader has his or her own opinion and only time can give the best answer, " he said.
The event was also an occasion for poet exchanges. "The girl on the moon" poem by Nguyen Hoan is a memory of the youth's love. Similarly, Ho The Phat showed his youth in love with "Qua xuan" poem.
Some, who are not members of the association, had time to introduce their poems. Tran Nhu Luan recited his poem named "Come to My Lang wharf" with much emotion; meanwhile, Kieu Oanh reviewed the youth's love through the "Trang the" poem.
At the performance, the poem-puzzle was introduced for the first time, making the atmosphere more bustling.
Need the new
Comparing to previous ones, this year's Nguyen Tieu Festival was less interesting partly because all activities were only held at the night poem performance, let alone no poem contest. Moreover, reciting poem was the main activity, making the performance become boring.
It was hoped that the Poem Day would be held better in the future.
