Potential of craft villages
Binh Dinh is one of provinces having many craft villages in which each has its unique cultural features. Many policies and program have been put into practice to help the restoration of craft villages. This helped the re-opening of many craft villages.
Most of them locate in An Nhon District with various industries including handicraft, food processing, and consumer products.
Other products such as bronze statue, Go Gang conical hat, and Bau Da wine have gradually attracted tourists.
Hoai Nhon District is the location of six craft villages. Their items like coconut matting, coconut oil, sedge mat, and wheat flour are well-known.
The craft village in Hoai Hao as well as other localities also stably develops. According to the newly-released statistics, Binh Dinh has 54 craft villages, consisting of 46 traditional ones and 8 newly-established craft villages. They have created jobs for many local people.
Preparation for festival
Tay Son-Binh Dinh 2008 Festival is an opportunity to introduce Binh Dinh’s land and people. Many events, therefore, plan to be held on this occasion. Food and Drink and Craft Villages Festival is one of important events.
The event is going to take place in five days (from July 29 to August 3) with two programs, traditional craft village festival and food and drink festival.
The traditional craft village festival aims to perform skills in making products, display products, and hold art performances.
The Organising Board carefully prepared for these activities because their aims are to introduce traditional craft villages and further the trade promotion.
“The preparations for the event have been synchronously conducted in localities. The Organising Board will preview all programs on July 15,” said Vice Director of Binh Dinh Industry and Trade Department, Nguyen Van Thang.
At present, all localities are striving to well prepare for the event. All preparations for the traditional craft villages and food and drink festival were carefully steered, according to Chairman of An Nhon District People’s Committee, Tran Dinh Tam.
