Preparations for welcoming tourists who will visit Binh Dinh on the occasion of the first Tay Son-Binh Dinh Festival 2008 have been carried out.
Prepare for staying
The Festival plans to take place in three days with many activities, such as the second International Festival of Vietnam Traditional Martial Arts, the beauty contest, and craft villages and food and drink festival.
The event is expected to attract scores of participants and tourists, let alone thousands of guests coming from bodies and agencies, Embassies and consulates, and provinces and cities nationwide.
The number of people flocking to Quy Nhon on the occasion of the festival is estimated to reach ten thousands.
However, the statistics released by provincial Department of Tourism-Sports-Culture showed that the number of rooms at all hotels in Quy Nhon city may not meet the demand.
To solve the issue, provincial Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh steered relevant bodies and agencies to check rooms in universities and colleges.
Quy Nhon University, Binh Dinh Vocational Training College, and Binh Dinh Teachers’ Training College will be used if the lack of staying happens, but they need expenditure to equip and upgrade, according to Vice Director of provincial Department of Tourism-Sports-Culture, Dinh Khac Dien.
Households will be also called on to welcome tourists if there are so many tourists coming to Binh Dinh on this occasion.
Prepare for welcoming tourists
The greeting, guide, and services for delegations and tourists were also very important. Training courses would be held to provide the knowledge of tourism and communication skills for those who would serve in the festival, said Dien.
250 volunteers took part in the first training course held on May 17-18. They were trained about the reception, communication skills, and the information about historical monuments and landscapes in Binh Dinh.
As planned, 80 will work at the second International Festival of Vietnam Traditional Martial Arts. The rest will participate in the Tay Son-Binh Dinh Festival.
Another course plans to be held for nearly 100 drivers on May 30. They will be provided the information about tourism sites, hotels, programs of the festival, and traffic safety.
Issues of prices and food safety in hotels and restaurants are also expected to discuss to ensure the most favorable conditions for the first Tay Son-Binh Dinh Festival.
