Fine arts exhibition opens

The Vietnamese traditional fine arts exhibition opened at Binh Dinh Museum on July 26.

Binh Dinh Museum and Vietnam Fine Arts Museum held the event on the occasion of Tay Son – Binh Dinh Festival 2008.

The exhibition displayed 70 typical works of Vietnamese fine arts, including statues of Buddha and sculpted relievos. These aimed to honor Vietnamese cultural values and Binh Dinh’s heritages.

Also, 10 old statues located at Tay Phuong pagoda were displayed at the exhibition. Participants also had a chance to enjoy many selected Hang Trong and Dong Ho folk paintings.

Other items, representing for Binh Dinh’s cultural tradition, were brought to the exhibition, such as Dong Son bronze drum found in Binh Dinh and some antiques unearthed at the forbidden city of the King citadel in An Nhon District.

Cham sculptures were also exhibited on the occasion of the event.
